Where are the first-time buyers at?

There probably hasn’t been a better time to buy a home for first-time buyers in many years. So where are all the first-time buyers at? Most new buyers are in their mid 20s to early 30s, they could be married or single or single parents.

First-time buyers probably don’t know what to expect. They have a lot of questions and sometimes don’t even know what questions to ask. Buying a home is usually the largest purchase people make and they want to be sure they are making the right decisions.

The first step before you consider buying a home should be getting pre-approved for a loan. Lenders will ask certain questions, the applicant’s income to debt ratio, what he or she can realistically afford and whether or not the person or couple qualifies for several government programs that are now available to help first-time buyers.

Two of the more common Government programs available are Federal Housing Administration (FHA), and Veterans Administration (VA). There are also state bonds that can help people who earn less. There are also subsidies and grants available in Bucks County.

In Bucks County many options are available through the Bucks County Housing Group, a nonprofit organization that supports affordable housing in a variety of ways. It is important for anyone considering the purchase of a home with the assistance of the Bucks County Housing Group to attend one of their numerous information workshops or one-on-one counseling sessions.
